About DJ Robert Short

Robert Short is a DJ from Glasgow with over 12 years experience playing nightclubs, pubs, hotels and venues throughout Scotland.

Robert has lived in Glasgow all his life. He started taking an interest in music at an early age in life, back in the early 90s he used to dj at family house parties at Christmas and New Year and this is where he got the passion to become a DJ.

Robert's career kicked off when he was 18, he got his first Friday and Saturday night resident slot in the Brewhouse Glasgow City Centre playing commercial dance and chart music to warm people up for a good night out just before they hit the clubs. This was a regular gig for Robert every weekend for just over 2 years. After the Brewhouse he moved on to work for a mobile dj agency catering for function work including birthday, engagement, weddings and charity nights. Robert continued to work as a mobile dj for around a year or so in hotels, social clubs and pubs.

Robert then decided to move on to bigger venues. He contacted an agency in Glasgow that dealt with pubs bars and nightclubs and after a short period of time he landed a Friday and Saturday night residency in Bar Soba Paisley - playing commercial house and dance music. With Roberts popularity rising within the agency he managed to get promoted into the nightclub scene with a weekend slot in Fusion nightclub Alloa playing chart, Rnb and dance music. While working at Fusion as resident he was also covering gigs in Walkabout Glasgow and Jongleurs comedy club. In Jongleurs he was playing and introducing comedians on and off stage and at 11pm the comedy club then turned into a nightclub until 3am.

As time passed Robert moved from resident in Fusion Alloa and became resident dj on a Friday in Cheers nightclub Dumbarton where to this day Robert says that Cheers is one of his all time favourite venues to dj. By now Robert's Saturdays where spent djing for Sportsters bar Edinburgh, Sportsters bar Perth, Sportsters bar Stirling who are run and owned by the City Nightclubs.

Robert's popularity saw him pick up a Monday night residency in the Cell nightclub in Shawlands Glasgow. His Thursdays were took up by a monthly resident gig at the Fubar nightclub Stirling and after this he managed to get the Friday and Saturday night resident in Walkabout Glasgow playing chart, dance, RnB and party anthems.

Robert's plays a wide selection of music including chart, dance, RnB, Party anthems and even some golden oldies. He has good microphone skills helping create a good atmosphere at the venue.
